Businessweek Says More Good News For The Denver Real Estate Market
Bloomberg Businessweek has rated the Top 50 metro areas for real estate growth in 1Q 2010. Denver, CO tops the list.
Colorado Economy Rated #2 in the U.S.
A new article in the Denver Business Journal reports the future of Colorado's economy is nearly the best the U.S. This news comes from an independent economic council called the American Legislative Exchange Council (ALEC).
Forbes Retracts Faulty Zillow Stats
On April 05, 2010 Forbes magazine sent Denver Realtors through the roof. They claimed that Denver metro was the second worse real estate market in the U.S. That's devastating. It's also a pretty remarkable fall from grace, too. It was only a few months ago Forbes.com reported that Denver is the best city to buy a home based on positive real estate market fundamentals. So, why the discrepancy? Turns out, they used faulty statistics from Zillow. Tsk, tsk Forbes. Everyone knows not to count on Zillow. Right?

Forbes magazine ranked Denver, Colorado as the best place to buy a home. Contrary to other locations that are still experiencing significant decline, Denver is doing much better. Their report not only includes the immediate real estate conditions but also considered long-term criteria as well.

Denver foreclosures down 46% from a year ago
According to an article in the online version of the Denver Business Journal - Bizjournal - Denver's foreclosures are down dramatically compared to this time last year.
Denver Metro Best In U.S. For Maintaining Home Values
If you ask most Denver based real estate brokers today, "how's the real estate market?", you're most likely going to get an answer akin to, "Well, we're not near as bad as other areas like California, Arizona, and Nevada. Overall, we're doing pretty good". At least that's the answer you should get.
It turns out that response is very accurate. A recent Denver Business Journal article verifies that Denver metro is the best in the nation for holding home values during the current economic downturn.
According to a report put out by Standard & Poor's that analyzed housing prices in 20 major markets, Denver's home values dropped the least amount in the U.S. between December 2007 - December 2008.
