Bizjournals: Highlands Ranch, Centennial among 250 most affluent U.S. cities
A new report from the online version of the Denver Business Journal, a.k.a. Bizjournal, has ranked Highlands Ranch well within the Top 10% of America's wealthiest cities. The study was conducted to determine the "wealth centers" in America, which they define as "...places blessed with high incomes, expensive homes, strong educational levels and widespread ownership of stocks, rental properties and motor vehicles..."
The article states,
"Highlands Ranch is Colorado's most affluent community and ranks 169th among 2,065 nationwide in an analysis by bizjournals... The study puts Highlands Ranch's median household income at $99,744, and 11.8 percent of its households have income above $200,000. Median home value in the unincorporated Douglas County community is $318,600, bizjournals said.
Centennial has a median household income of $82,485, with 7.6 percent of its households over the $200,000 income level, bizjournals said. It said Centennial's median home value is $288,300.
Other Colorado cities and towns traditionally considered as affluent, such as Aspen and Cherry Hills Village, were not on bizjournals' top 250 list..."
